I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Melina Abbott and I’ve spent the past 12 years in sales and marketing. For 7 years as Sales & Marketing Manager of a small manufacturing business, before becoming an accredited consultant with the Better Business Institute (BBI) - an international business development organisation - in 2004.
I have to admit that training with the Better Business Institute was a real eye opener for me. I learnt more about marketing in 1 week with their marketing materials than I had in the 7 years I was employed. Since then I have consistently been applying that knowledge to attract customers for my own business and my clients’ businesses. In this time I have personally helped hundreds of business owners, many of whom have had great results applying this information.
Firstly, I must emphasise I do not sell advertising! - Like you I am a small business owner but I focus on Marketing and Sales. Part of what I do is help other small business owners get better value from their marketing initiatives to generate better quality clients, and make more profit – but without the need for huge budgets.
